Scaling & Teeth Whitening

Scaling

Scaling is a deep-cleaning, nonsurgical procedure where plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line are scraped away and rough spots on the tooth root are made smooth.

Plaque is a soft yellow-grayish substance that adheres to the tooth surfaces including removable and fixed restorations. If not removed within 24 hours by effective brushing, it begins to form tartar which needs to be cleansed using scaling techniques.

It is advisable to do this once every 6 months. Scaling does not weaken the gums, but prevents gum diseases which bring about bleeding gums and if not checked leading to more serious and extensive gum problems.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening, also known as bleaching, is an easy way to brighten your smile.

Discoloration of teeth can occur due to several reasons. Some of the common reasons causing discoloration are ageing, wear of teeth due to grinding, poor oral hygiene, consuming colored foods, use of tobacco, etc.

Teeth whitening is an easy and liberating way to reclaim your smile so you’ll be happy to show off your beautiful white teeth. Once we diagnose and analyse your teeth, we will be able to suggest the most optimal solution.
